Rank tracking, backlink analysis, keyword research, drafting, page audits, reporting. An SEO team in 2026 runs six jobs and buys a subscription for each one, and every subscription bills at enterprise rates whether you run twenty clients or one.
What an SEO stack actually contains
Break the work into stages and the tool list writes itself, almost independently of team size.
- Research: keywords, volume, difficulty. Ahrefs and Semrush live here.
- Competitor analysis: backlink profiles, visibility, site structure.
- Content production: drafts, editing, SERP-facing optimisation.
- Audit: technical health, indexation, speed.
- Reporting: what the client sees at month end.
Five stages, and none of them survives on a free tier once money is involved.
What the stack costs at retail
Nine tools that commonly travel together, at retail and at gbseo.ru access pricing. All figures are ₽ per month, gbseo.ru catalogue, checked 17 September 2026.
| Tool | Retail | Via gbseo.ru |
|---|---|---|
| Semrush Guru | 10,000₽ | 499₽ |
| Ahrefs Advanced | 9,000₽ | 1,999₽ |
| Midjourney Mega | 5,400₽ | 1,299₽ |
| Jasper Boss Mode | 4,900₽ | 499₽ |
| ChatGPT Plus | 1,800₽ | 499₽ |
| Claude Pro | 1,800₽ | 399₽ |
| Figma Professional | 1,500₽ | 499₽ |
| Canva Pro | 1,200₽ | 499₽ |
| Grammarly Premium | 1,100₽ | 499₽ |
Retail comes to 36,700₽ a month. The full gbseo.ru bundle is 4,999₽ a month. Both figures come from the calculator on the homepage, which runs off the same table.
Why the bill outgrows the work
Price follows the tier
Subscriptions price by plan tier, not by load. Ahrefs Advanced costs the same on two projects as on twenty. For an agency with steady throughput that is fine. For three people running five sites, it means the first months of every retainer go to software.
Two tools doing one job
The second driver is overlap. Semrush and Ahrefs duplicate perhaps sixty percent of their functionality, and teams buy both anyway, because links are better in one and positions in the other.
What to buy first
This order holds up when the budget does not.
1. Keyword research
Without it the rest is guesswork. Semrush Guru at 499₽ covers this more cheaply than anything else on the list.
2. Backlink analysis
Ahrefs still has the stronger link index. It is the one row in the table where the access price gap (1,999₽ against 499₽ for most) is earned by the data.
3. Content production
Claude Pro at 399₽ is the cheapest line in the catalogue and the workhorse for long pieces. The text-and-visual pairing is covered in our piece on building an AI content workflow.
4. Reporting
Added last, once there is something worth reporting.
5. Both Ahrefs and Semrush, if ever
Less often than the industry assumes. Semrush is stronger at query clustering and at reports you can hand a client unedited. Ahrefs is stronger on links and crawl speed. If the work is mostly content, the second tool can wait six months. If the service is link building, reverse the order.
The access pricing makes the decision cheaper to get wrong: running both at 2,498₽ a month is a different kind of commitment from running both at 19,000₽.
What not to automate early
Generation without editing produces volume and no rankings. Bulk audits on a schedule fill a folder with reports nobody opens, and automated publishing without a human pass on titles and descriptions produces duplicates, reliably.
Automation belongs after the process is stable and you know which step actually eats the time. Run it before that and it mostly hides where the time goes.
What is safe to automate from day one
Scheduled crawls are fine, because a crawler finds the same broken links whether or not anyone is watching. So is position tracking, which exists to be recorded daily and read weekly. Report assembly can go on a schedule as soon as the report has stopped changing shape, usually around the third month with a client.
The pattern: anything with a stable, checkable output automates well, and anything that produces a judgement does not. The step worth automating first is whichever one somebody currently does by hand every Monday morning. It is rarely the interesting one.
Working out cost per client
Divide the monthly stack cost by active projects. At 36,700₽ retail across five clients, tooling costs 7,340₽ per client per month. At 4,999₽ it is 1,000₽. That line is usually what decides the retainer size at which an agency becomes profitable.
Which projects count
Count active projects, not signed contracts. A paused client still occupies a slot in the rank tracker while bringing in nothing, and once paused work passes a third of the roster, the stack gets more expensive without anyone noticing.
Annual or monthly billing
The catalogue applies a multiplier of 10 rather than 12 on annual billing, gbseo.ru catalogue, checked 17 September 2026, so two months are not charged. For the full bundle that is 49,990₽ a year against 59,988₽ paid monthly.
Which to pick, and when
Annual makes sense once the tool set has settled and you are confident it will not change in two months. While the stack is still being assembled, which is most of the first six months, monthly is cheaper, because it lets you drop positions nobody uses without waiting for the year to end.
Common mistakes when assembling a stack
Buying ahead of growth
An enterprise tier bought against hypothetical expansion bills every month, and the expansion does not always arrive. Upgrading takes a minute on the day it is genuinely needed.
Duplicating functions
Two keyword tools and three audit tools is a common picture. If a position has not been opened in a month, it is not needed.
Forgetting the people
A 499₽ tool saves an hour a week only if somebody knows how to drive it. Half the unused subscriptions in agencies belong to people who were never shown how to use them.
Renewing on autopilot
A subscription bought for one client keeps billing after that client leaves. Nobody cancels it, because cancelling is somebody's job in the abstract and nobody's in particular.
A calendar entry works better than a policy here. Once a quarter, open the billing page, read the list out loud, and cancel whatever nobody can name a use for. Twenty minutes, and it usually finds something. This matters more at access pricing than at retail: a 499₽ line is small enough to survive several reviews unexamined, and five of them are not.
Four questions before buying
- Which job does this close, and who specifically will do it?
- Does something already paid for cover this function?
- How many projects will this subscription serve in the next three months?
- What happens if it turns out to be unnecessary in a month?
If there is no budget at all
Free tiers cover less than they promise, but not nothing. Search Console and Yandex Webmaster give you the queries a site already appears for, which is more accurate than any volume estimate, because it is your own data rather than a market average.
Where free stops
What free tools do not give you: a link index, competitor data, and position history. The first couple of months survive without them; after that the work runs into the fact that you cannot see who is overtaking you or why.
A practical order for a team with no budget: exhaust Search Console and Webmaster first, then add one paid research tool, then everything else. Buying five subscriptions before the free analytics has been read properly is the fastest way to spend money without moving anything.
What gbseo.ru access includes
Access runs through a cloud dashboard. Service credentials are never handed over, and sessions open from your account. How that works and where its limits are is covered in our piece on cloud access without passwords.
The full bundle is 4,999₽ a month, gbseo.ru catalogue, checked 17 September 2026. Annual billing applies a multiplier of 10 rather than 12, so two months are not charged. Individual tools can be taken separately at the prices above. Questions about access or billing go through support.
FAQ
Can I start with a single tool?
Yes. The catalogue sells positions individually and there is no minimum set. Most people start with Semrush or Ahrefs and add from there.
How does the bundle differ from buying individually?
The 4,999₽ bundle opens every position in the catalogue. Buying the same tools one by one costs more past roughly five or six of them.
Do prices change?
Yes, the catalogue is updated. The figures here were fixed on gbseo.ru catalogue, checked 17 September 2026; current ones are always in the calculator.
What happens if I cancel?
Billing is monthly and cancellation is handled in your account. Access runs to the end of the paid period.
Is this stack enough for a small team?
For two or three people across five to seven projects, yes. The bottleneck arrives at content production time long before it arrives at tooling.
